The beautiful retreat centre of Mundekulla lies in the Swedish forest, 50km north of Karlskrona. There are several ways to get there. We have started to list some options below, more detailed information will be added soon!
By train to Emmaboda and (shared) taxi to Mundekulla About 9km East of Mundekulla, there is a train station called Emmaboda. There are trains departing from Karlskrona (once per hour), Kalmar and Østerport, Denmark (once every two hours, passing Copenhagen, Malmö and Alvesta). A ride from Copenhaguen airport to Emmaboda takes 3:03 hours. You Tickets can be bought in an app called "Blekingetrafiken" or on www.sj.se. From Emmaboda station, taxis can be ordered to go to Mundekulla. The ride takes about 15 minutes and the cost is around 300 SEK/car (around 30 euros). The organizing team is looking to help arrange shared taxis for those participants who need transport from Emmaboda to Mundekulla. More information about this will be shared at the end of July.
By train to Emmaboda and bicycle to Mundekulla About 9km East of Mundekulla, there is a train station called Emmaboda. There are trains departing from Karlskrona (once per hour), Kalmar and Østerport, Denmark (once every two hours, passing Copenhagen, Malmö and Alvesta). Tickets can be bought in an app called "Blekingetrafiken" or on www.sj.se. Most of these trains take a limited amount of bicycles, making it possible to cycle from Emmaboda to Mundekulla station (9.4km along car road, about 35min). Please be cautious of traffic.
By bicycle from Karlskrona It is 60km to cycle from Karlskrona to Mundekulla, taking about 3h20 according to Google Maps. If you feel sporty, there are bicycles for rent at the Karlskrona train station (Donkey Republic) and at Sportkompaniet (reserve well in advance). Do mind that you will mostly cycle on car roads, so be cautious of traffic.
By night train from Berlin or Hamburg If you are travelling from the Netherlands or Germany, you can take the night train with Snälltåget. You can board the train in Berlin (20:58) or Hamburg (23:59) and get off at Malmö or Alvesta, from where you can take regional trains to Emmaboda. You can choose to book a seat or a bed in a sleeper cabin. The night train can be booked on the website of Snälltåget: https://www.snalltaget.se/
By car Mundekulla is about a 2,5h drive from Malmö, about 3h from Copenhagen, about 5h from Stockholm and 1h from Karlskrona by car. There are enough parking spots available at Mundekulla.
By plane The closest airport is Ronneby, followed by Copenhagen airport. From Ronneby and Copenhagen airport, you can take the train to Emmaboda (see information above) or rent a car. Copenhagen airport might be cheaper than Ronneby.
