We are living in an increasingly uncertain world with an accelerating speed and scope of ecological and social disruptions. As we witness the dying of old structures and ways of thinking, we lean into inviting emerging patterns and practices to weave our new social fabric. What connects us in the transition from this current reality to a thriving future for all is the sense of urgency and taking agency for change. Being in the flow of the transition requires us to listen attentively to the needs of our communities and respond wisely within our collective capacities. With curiosity and open hearts, a group of students from MSLS (Master's in Strategic Leadership towards Sustainability) opened the invitation for the 12th Art of Hosting training in Karlskrona to learn and reflect on the ways we are leading and participating in the transition towards sustainability. Together, we inspired each other to take courageous actions towards a future that is led by participation and togetherness. The calling question that guided our four days together was:
How can practicing the "Art of Hosting" support us in creating thriving futures for all?
This led the organising student team to uncover two sub-questions related to the theme, which further guided our conversations and activities:
How can inviting new ways of seeing the world help us embrace changes and navigate our actions to respond to the call of our times?
How will participatory leadership support us collectively to hold the complexity and fuel our movement into a sustainable future we imagine?
80 people from over 20 countries gathered in Karlskrona for this year's Art of Hosting Training, diving deeper into these questions over the course of 4 days (19-22.06.2023).
We are glad to share the harvest from our journey with you. Below you find a summary of each day, stories from participants, and a photo gallery
