From 'Gathering' on Day 1 to now 'Forming the Tapestry' on our final workshop day, we have journeyed to consolidate all the learnings from these past three days. The morning began with a Gallery Walk of the harvest sheets - a stunning visual testament to our shared experiences. As we quietly moved around the room, reflecting on the collective wisdom that was generated, there was a feeling of immense gratitude for the listening ears that collected this intelligence and for all that offered their “tear drops”. There was also a growing sense of excitement as ideas emerged about how we could integrate our newfound insights into both our personal and professional lives. his momentum carried us into the next exercise known as Designing for Wiser Action (DFWA). This methodology harnesses the power of co-creation and helps to clarify the path forward for real-world projects. Guided by the Chaordic Stepping Stones framework—a structured approach to transition from chaos to order, 14 brave participants—"the callers"—presented their initiatives. They sought the group's support to bring their visions to life. The breadth of projects was inspiring, spanning from initiatives supporting underprivileged youth and designing equitable carbon budgets to advancing renewable energy transitions and reimagining product designs.
This collaborative process, drawing on a multitude of perspectives, enabled each caller to gain the clarity needed for tangible forward progress. Reflecting on my own experience as a caller, I can only express profound gratitude. Going into this exercise, I felt very exposed and vulnerable, as if I was offering up a little green shoot to be trampled upon. Yet, the group's collective care and wisdom nurtured this shoot, their insights acting as scaffolding that would allow it to take root deeply. What a gift to experience.
The morning culminated in a final check-out circle, where we gathered as a group for one last time. Narayan’s gentle guidance, “if your heart is beating fast, that is an indication to share”, prompted an outpouring of gifts and we were all blessed with the words of gratitude, poetry, affirmations and songs shared by many.
I arrived at this workshop seeking to become a better human but I also came under many guises. I leave the workshop feeling more authentically myself, reminded that I am part of a beautiful tapestry of souls united in hope and service for a better world, much like a baby cradled in a hammock. Thank you all.
As we scatter across the globe to continue on our individual journeys, may the memory of Ayse’s powerful rendition linger with you for a long time.
We shall be known by the company we keep By the ones who circle round to tend these fires We shall be known by the ones who sow and reap The seeds of change, alive from deep within the earth It is time now, it is time now that we thrive It is time we lead ourselves into the well It is time now, and what a time to be alive In this Great Turning we shall learn to lead in love In this Great Turning we shall learn to lead in love - We Shall Be Known by MaMuse -
