Story of Day 3
by Ebby Anahita

Day 3 started with an urgently needed massage circle, followed by a line lead by chaos back into an ordered circle - recapturing the chaordic stepping stones of the prior day. We took a moment to appreciate the weeds within the harvest, sharing what we had, too, found in our forager’s baskets: worries, fears, perfectionism, …
To me, three things stand out from this long day: Listening, being seen and being held and the magic of co-creation:

A task for this day was to listen, deeply, to the stories shared today: About bringing AoH to the European Government, business, human rights in Asia, of letting go and conscious closures. As a Witness, I was allowed to be and offer my presence to my storyteller. Being seen and heard, truly, may indeed be an ancient need integral for any transformation, be it personal or otherwise. Reflecting upon what we’ve heard, we found magic and play in our communities and challenges, determined that fear and courage may not exist without each other, and defined commitment over time to build momentum as a condition for success: „It takes a long time to happen fast.“.

After lunch, we embarked on a knowledge expedition in which more experienced hosts let their knowledge figuratively rain down on our gardens and nourish our growing plants. What stuck most with me was the question that I will from now on ask decision makers in my path for sure. Please let this question sit with you: „If we do not have time to do it well now, when will we have time to do it over?“.

During the gala dinner, I truly did not expect to laugh and cry my heart out, being held with difficult emotions and being seen through and with them. This can be scary, yet I found this experience to be healing. Finally, our open stage went wholly off the tracks and I will not even try to recapture the magic we created that evening. I simply do not see how I could adequately do that. But, the evening had everything a good story should have. Tears, laughs, emotions, highs and lows, and an arch into a happy ending. From collectively grieving the wars of our world, to sharing the joy of music, love through the witnessing of a First Dance and flow. It was Everything.
From the many nuggets of wisdom I foraged this day, the gala evening will stick with me for a long time, as well as these connections, which Tracy Chapman called „sticky“. I hope that the connections and people I found will stick with me and continue to enrich my life’s garden. May we meet and create magic together again.
